Cabinet clears ₹150-crore plan for six new small airports in Bihar

Representative Image PATNA: Air travel in Bihar’s smaller towns is set for a major boost with the state cabinet on Tuesday approving a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the state govt and the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for the construction of six small airports under the Centre’s Udan scheme. Four-month sand mining ban in Bihar to protect rivers

PATNA: There will be no river sand mining in Bihar for four months till Oct 15. Even authorised leaseholders will not be allowed to extract sand during this period. The transport of sand outside the state is also prohibited. However, the mines and geology department has assured that there will be no shortage of sand during the monsoon ban.
