BENGALURU: Food delivery platform Swiggy will relocate its headquarters from Bellandur to Whitefield in the coming months.
The move aims to enhance employee connectivity, particularly with the new office’s proximity to the Kadugodi Tree Park Metro station. The location will be accessible from both the Kadugodi Tree Park and Hopefarm Channasandra stations.
Sources at Swiggy indicated that the relocation is not a reaction to concerns regarding Bengaluru’s infrastructure, but rather due to the expiration of the lease at the Bellandur campus. “The contract for our Bellandur office is ending, so we chose to move to a larger, future-ready facility. This decision is unrelated to ORR traffic or civic issues,” a source shared with TOI.
Many employees expressed positive feedback about the shift. “Whitefield now boasts a robust social ecosystem—cafés, work-friendly spaces, and residential clusters. Plus, the new office will be a short walk from the Kadugodi Metro station, making it a prime location,” one employee noted.
Swiggy has been based on ORR for over six years and employs more than 2,000 people in Bengaluru. Recently, several companies along ORR have raised concerns about infrastructure and increased commuting times.
Two months ago, logistics startup BlackBuck’s co-founder Rajesh Yabaji mentioned that their move from Bellandur after nine years was prompted by daily commutes exceeding 90 minutes and poorly maintained roads. His comments ignited discussions among policymakers, investors, and entrepreneurs about the future of the city’s tech landscape.
