NEW DELHI: An Empowered Committee (EC) formed by the Supreme Court has initiated actions to revive the long-delayed Supernova Project in Noida. This includes measures such as a forensic audit, homebuyer verification drives, and plans to select a new developer for the esteemed mixed-use development.
Established following a Supreme Court ruling on December 16, 2025, the Committee commenced its operations in the last week of December 2025 and has taken control of Supertech Realtors Pvt. Ltd., the corporate entity in question. The Supernova Project notably features the iconic Spira Tower, envisioned to be among the tallest buildings in India.
Justice MM Kumar, former Chief Justice of the Jammu & Kashmir High Court, leads the panel. Its members include AK Mittal, former Chairman and Managing Director of NBCC (India) Ltd.; Rajeev Mehrotra, former CMD of RITES Ltd.; and Aalok Dave, a corporate resolution expert. The Committee is tasked with addressing the troubled project while safeguarding the interests of homebuyers, financial institutions, and the Noida Authority.
To facilitate immediate resolutions, the EC has embarked on a verification process covering 497 homebuyers of the Nova East and Nova West residential towers. A Registration Requisition Form has been provided for this purpose, and so far, 132 homebuyers have submitted the required documentation. Currently, the cases of 15 homebuyers have been validated and will be forwarded to the Noida Authority, while others are still under review.
The Committee has engaged Ernst & Young as the forensic auditor for Supertech Realtors Pvt. Ltd. and its parent company, Supertech Limited. The audit process is already underway, and the EC is also in the process of selecting a new developer for the project.
Moreover, a structural audit of crucial buildings, including Spira Tower and Hypernova Mall, is being planned in collaboration with esteemed institutions such as the Central Building Research Institute in Roorkee and the Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi.
The Committee stated, “With these coordinated initiatives and our mandate from the Supreme Court, we are confident in our ability to revive the iconic Supernova Project in the Delhi-NCR region and restore trust among homebuyers, investors, and stakeholders.”
