SC Rejects Appeal Against HYDRAA Eviction Orders

HYDERABAD: On Friday, the Supreme Court dismissed a civil appeal from city businessman P. Satya Narayana, challenging eviction orders from the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA). This ruling allows the Jubilee Hills House Building Cooperative Society to reclaim a valuable 2,000-square-yard property in Jubilee Hills. After the Telangana high court ruled in favor of HYDRAA and the cooperative society on August 21, affirming the eviction orders, Satya Narayana took his case to the Supreme Court.

HYDRAA had issued notices to Satya Narayana, instructing him to remove a tin shed and nursery garden on the disputed land on Road No. 1, Jubilee Hills. The agency determined that the petitioner could not provide any documentation proving ownership of the land, which is classified as approved open space in the Jubilee Hills Co-operative House Building Society layout.

Considering that a final order was already in place, the high court concluded that the writ petition did not warrant further examination and dismissed it, although it allowed him to contest the final eviction order dated August 19 before an appropriate forum. Subsequently, he brought his challenge before the Supreme Court.

After reviewing both arguments, a division bench consisting of Justices Manoj Misra and Ujjal Bhuyan dismissed Satya Narayana’s appeal.
