Register Sale Deeds at Any Taluka Office Soon: Goa CM

PANAJI: Citizens will soon have the option to register their sale deeds at any of the 12 sub-registrar offices across the state. This move, as announced by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, aims to eliminate the restriction of registering land only in the region where it is located. Sawant further stated that the processes for marriage and land registrations will be streamlined in the next 10 days based on directives given to officials.

“Today, I convened a meeting with registrars, sub-registrars, and directors as law minister. We discussed various issues related to the National Informatics Centre (NIC) and the Info Tech Corporation of Goa (ITG) regarding IT infrastructure. Registrations, ranging from marriage to land, have been causing inconvenience. I’ve instructed them to resolve these issues. A new office is being established in Mapusa, and discussions regarding this transition have taken place. You should see improvements in their operations in the coming 10 days,” said the CM.

The longstanding challenges with NIC and ITG have been addressed, he noted. “As mentioned in the budget, registration can now occur at any registrar’s office. For instance, registration for land in Pernem can be done in Margao, and Canacona registration can be handled in Pernem. Within 10 days, this system will be operational, allowing registrations from anywhere in the state,” he added.
