CHANDIGARH: The Punjab government has established a sector-specific committee under the Housing and Urban Development Department to create a tailored transformation roadmap for the real estate sector. This initiative aims to foster structured collaboration between the government and the real estate industry.
Punjab Housing and Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian stated, “The committee was formed to provide policy inputs for a progressive, transparent, and investment-friendly real estate ecosystem in Punjab.” He emphasized that the goal is to develop a best-in-class policy model through active collaboration with key stakeholders.
The committee is headed by Deepak Garg, Director of Marbella Group, with Rupinder Singh Chawla, Managing Director of CEE ENN Promoters and Developers Pvt Ltd, serving as Vice-chairman. Other members include Umang Jindal (CEO, Homeland Group), Sukhdev Singh (Director, AGI Group), Pardeep Kumar Bansal (Director, HLP Group), Baljeet Singh (Director, Jubilee Group), Deepak Makhija (Business Head, EMAAR Group, Punjab), Rupinder Singh Gill (Managing Director, Gillsons Construction), Rohit Sharma (Executive Director, DLF Group), K K Sharma Kuku (Director, SG Group), Mohinder Goel (Chairman, Affinity Group), Varun Dham (Director, KLV Builders), and Amarinder Singh Malhi, Additional Chief Administrator of GMADA as Member Secretary.
The core objective assigned to this committee is to provide structured and practical policy inputs tailored to Punjab’s real estate landscape, considering the state’s fiscal and structural framework. “The committee will analyze best practices and policy frameworks from other states and develop recommendations aligned with Punjab’s developmental goals. They will submit their written recommendations within six weeks following the notification,” the minister concluded.
