PUNE: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has ramped up efforts against illegal plotting in Purandar taluka, demolishing unauthorized layouts in three villages over the last two days.
The demolition drive, which commenced on November 19, will extend into Monday, as informed by Joint Commissioner Dipti Suryawanshi-Patil to TOI.
Following numerous complaints from buyers who were misled into buying plots without the necessary permissions, PMRDA recently conducted a survey across 15 villages in Purandar and uncovered several violations. Demolition activities took place in Deodi, Ambodi, and Kalewadi, where plots had been sold without non-agriculture (NA) permission or approved layout plans. Officials noted that these layouts typically featured only temporary internal roads and demarcation poles, leaving buyers unable to obtain building permissions.
Actions were taken in accordance with directions from PMRDA Commissioner Yogesh Mhase after reviewing the complaints. Suryawanshi-Patil stated, “Illegal plotting and construction activities have surged, particularly in areas just outside the proposed Purandar airport zone.”
Land acquisition for the airport project will encompass seven villages: Vanpuri, Udachiwadi, Kumbharvalan, Ekhatpur, Pargaon, Munjwadi, and Khanwadi. The district administration has successfully gained consent from 95% of landowners, and a proposal for issuing 32(a) for land acquisition in these villages has been submitted.
