NOIDA: In a significant move to address longstanding industrial allotments, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has issued notices to 366 plot allottees, requiring them to complete their lease deeds within 10 days or face cancellation.
According to officials, allottees were previously provided a checklist of required documents for lease deed execution. However, many have failed to complete the registration process despite multiple reminders.
Incomplete registrations have delayed the possession of industrial plots throughout Yamuna City, hindering manufacturing efforts in a region where the state government is actively promoting industrial growth. “Executing the registry is crucial; possession can only be granted after the lease deed is signed, layout plans are approved, and construction begins,” stated a senior YEIDA official.
The public notice dated Nov 21 has initiated cancellation proceedings for those who did not respond within the original 60-day timeframe. The names of defaulting allottees are now available on YEIDA’s website.
This action has raised concerns among industrial plot allottees, particularly those who have been waiting for possession for over a decade. The Yamuna Expressway Entrepreneurs Association (YEEA), representing allottees from sectors 32 and 33, has petitioned YEIDA to pause cancellations for cases where “zero-period” exemption requests are still pending.
The association’s letter, submitted on Monday, indicated that more than 100 allottees have sought zero-period relief, aimed at adjusting dues for delays caused by the Authority. Despite directives from the Allahabad High Court for YEIDA to issue detailed, reasoned orders, many applications remain unresolved.
“We have been awaiting possession since 2013 and are ready to proceed with lease deeds immediately,” stated the letter from secretary Imran Ghani. The association also suggested organizing a joint registry camp with YEIDA to address pending matters.
The group requested a 90-day extension without penalties after YEIDA makes decisions about zero-period cases. They noted that many affected allottees have nearly fulfilled their payment obligations for the plots, and any granted zero-period benefits would allow several to obtain refunds.
As major projects like the Noida International Airport and Medical Device Park are advancing nearby, YEIDA is pressured to activate industrial land and expedite development.
