NOIDA: During a recent visit, Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’ referred to the Noida, Greater Noida, and Yamuna Authority (YEIDA) regions as “the crown jewels of Uttar Pradesh,” mirroring the status of Kashmir for India. He emphasized that enhancing industry and investment is “our government’s top priority.” With the establishment of new units, the minister believes employment opportunities will grow, aiding Uttar Pradesh in its quest to become a top-performing state.

To ensure timely project completion, Nandi urged senior officials of the Noida Authority to work on expanding the land bank and improve collaboration with architects for quicker approval of building plans. After assessing the approval process, he noted delays and instructed the Authority to develop a mechanism to promptly address any deficiencies.

He examined key regions, including land acquisition, infrastructure quality, construction timelines, and outstanding lotteries. He instructed officials to expedite stalled projects and enhance transparency and efficiency.

Nandi conducted a comprehensive five-hour review meeting, focusing on resolving pending builder–buyer disputes and tackling backlogs in property registrations. He also stressed the importance of upgrading the aesthetics of the Delhi–Noida entry gate to reflect the evolving status of the city.

Post-review, Nandi was critical of previous administrations, stating, “Under the BSP or SP governments, operations relied on dubious practices. In the last eight years, Uttar Pradesh has positioned itself decisively. Anyone attempting to break the law or engage in corruption will face consequences.”

Moreover, Nandi expressed concerns regarding delays in engineering and electricity-related projects and urged the swift resolution of pending affidavits in court. He called for the removal of underperforming legal representatives and requested a detailed report on ongoing and resolved court cases.

The minister advocated for large-scale plantation, maintenance, and cleanliness in horticulture parks, insisting on a structured penalty system instead of mere symbolic fines. After his review in Noida, he convened another meeting for the Greater Noida Authority that evening.
