NOIDA: Teams from the Noida Authority have been assigned to Salarpur village and surrounding areas to curb illegal construction. Reports indicate that unauthorized construction has occurred on plots numbered 728–735 and 745–752, with some buildings exceeding seven floors without proper approval.
The field teams, which include five managers, an assistant manager, four junior engineers, 20 field staff, and two police officers, are conducting daily inspections. Their findings will be reported to the senior manager of Work Circle 8 to ensure stringent oversight and prompt action against encroachments.
This initiative focuses on 39 developers involved in constructing more than 60 unauthorized buildings across 24 plots, offering flats priced between Rs 30 lakh and 65 lakh on both designated and acquired land. Notably, many of these flats have already been booked, despite their illegal status.
In July, the Authority issued notifications to these developers and affixed them to the buildings. However, these notices were subsequently removed, and construction continued clandestinely. In response, the Authority established a dedicated team to halt all activities and enforce regulations against land encroachment. Supported by police, the teams visited the sites, directly issuing notices on existing and ongoing constructions. These notices instructed encroachers to either remove the illegal structures within a week or present their case to the Authority.
Authority CEO Lokesh M emphasized that such encroachments undermine planned urban development, create legal issues, and pose risks for potential buyers. “Investing in properties here could lead to significant financial losses, as these buildings lack legal approval and are subject to demolition,” he stated.
This effort is part of a broader initiative by the Authority to address unauthorized development throughout Noida, with similar actions planned in adjacent areas. The CEO also mentioned that a letter would be sent to the district administration urging action against developers illegally using groundwater.
