NOIDA: The Noida Authority has instructed officials to file FIRs for illegal constructions and to follow up on pending cases where police have not yet acted. Additionally, a comprehensive database will be created to track enforcement actions, including notices issued, complaints filed, FIRs registered, and buildings sealed.

According to officials, this database will enable senior officers to monitor progress and identify any delays or lapses. A strict approach will be taken towards those showing negligence in following up, with individuals held accountable for reporting encroachments.

During a review meeting on Monday, CEO Lokesh M emphasized the need for detailed reports organized by village, plot, and encroacher. These reports will form the basis for filing FIRs at local police stations.

Many FIRs are pending registration despite complaints being submitted to the police, the CEO noted. Senior officials are now required to collaborate directly with police officers to ensure prompt registration of FIRs.

The action plan will also include public awareness initiatives. Officials have been tasked with repairing or replacing deteriorating signboards that mark the Authority’s jurisdiction, with updated signs warning against unauthorized construction.

Particular attention will be given to flood-prone areas along the Yamuna river within the notified zone, as encroachments in these regions pose serious risks. Coordinated efforts with the district administration, irrigation department, and police have been requested to mitigate these issues.

Lekhpals have been directed to collaborate more closely with their respective work circles. The CEO has made it clear that negligence will result in strict disciplinary actions, and responsibilities will be firmly established.

Recently, the Authority issued notices to 39 individuals and companies for illegal constructions on acquired and notified land in Salarpur Khadar village. Notices have been affixed to the buildings, some of which are complete while others are in progress.

In July, illegal constructions worth approximately ₹15 crore were demolished in Sorkha village, freeing up 4,000 square meters of land that had been illegally developed despite prior warnings.

Around 150 residential and commercial buildings across various sectors have been marked with notices declaring them illegal. Officials indicated these structures are also earmarked for demolition as part of a broader campaign to safeguard government and notified land from encroachment and unplanned growth.
