CHANDIGARH – Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini declared on Monday that no impoverished family in Haryana would be left without shelter. He presented ownership certificates under the Mukhyamantri Shehri Awas Yojana and plot allotment letters under the Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Yojana 2.0 to numerous beneficiaries.
During a state-level event in Panchkula, Saini reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring that every disadvantaged family in Haryana has a home, emphasizing the dedication to inclusive development.
He announced that 1,144 beneficiaries in Sector-23, Jagadhri received ownership certificates under the Mukhyamantri Shehri Awas Yojana.
Additionally, 3,884 rural beneficiaries across 58 villages received plot allotment letters under Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Yojana 2.0, according to an official statement.
A home represents more than just a roof; it is a dream and a source of dignity and security, he expressed.
Saini highlighted that these efforts extend beyond simply constructing homes; they aim to uplift the most vulnerable members of society.
The selection of beneficiaries was conducted transparently, ensuring that aid reaches only those who genuinely need it. There was no bias or favoritism—only need-based support was provided, marking a significant step in transparent governance.
He emphasized the success of a double-engine government: “We have delivered on our promises, provided land, and offered financial assistance for home construction. This has been achievable thanks to strong collaboration between the Centre and the state.”
Saini noted that in the first phase of the Mukhyamantri Shehri Awas Yojana, 15,256 families in 14 cities have been granted 30-square-yard plots, with a subsidy of ₹2.5 lakh per household available under PMAY-Urban 2.0 for home construction.
In rural regions, the allocation of plots to 1.58 lakh applicants in 561 villages is in progress under Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Yojana 2.0. Furthermore, rural beneficiaries will receive ₹1.38 lakh from PMAY Gramin, ₹12,000 for toilets under the Swachh Bharat Mission, and 90 days of unskilled labor wages under MGNREGA.
As of now, 69,150 houses have been built in rural areas with ₹579 crore in support under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin, while 77,900 homes have been constructed in urban areas through the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Shehri with ₹1,650 crore assistance.
Saini remarked that the state government has launched a new phase of development, improving not only housing but also making significant strides in education, healthcare, employment, and essential infrastructure.
“Youth are becoming self-reliant, women feel safer, and farmers are thriving. This is just the beginning. Our vision is for no family in Haryana to lack a roof over their heads,” he affirmed.
Development and Panchayats Minister Krishan Lal Panwar spoke at the event, outlining various initiatives for the welfare of the poor, youth, and women.
Previously, poor families could only dream of owning a house, but now, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance, over four crore homes have been allocated to the needy nationwide.
He stated that in Haryana, under Chief Minister Saini’s leadership, housing initiatives are being expedited in both rural and urban sectors.
“Unlike past administrations, where plots existed only on paper, beneficiaries now receive both registered ownership and possession,” he concluded.
