MUMBAI: In September, property registrations in the Mumbai municipal area surged by 32% to 12,070 units, driven by strong festive demand, as reported by Knight Frank India.
According to data from the Maharashtra government, the city of Mumbai (within BMC jurisdiction) saw 12,070 property registrations last month, up from 9,111 units during the same period in the previous year.
The figures include transactions from both primary (first sale) and secondary (resale) markets.
“Mumbai city recorded a 32% year-on-year increase in property registrations for September,” noted the consultant.
Stamp duty collections reached Rs 1,292 crore, reflecting a 47% year-on-year rise, with residential demand driving the market. Notably, residential properties accounted for 80% of all registrations during the month.
