NEW DELHI: Another significant bungalow deal of around ₹1,000 crore is on the horizon in the national capital, as Maharaja Manujendra Shah of Tehri Garhwal plans to sell his property on Bhagwan Das Road to a local entrepreneur noted for his substantial footprint in the food and beverage sector, according to sources familiar with the situation.
The 3.2-acre bungalow marks the second acquisition for the businessman, who has also secured an agreement to purchase the first official residence of former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on Motilal Nehru Road in Lutyens’ Bungalow Zone (LBZ) for over ₹1,100 crore.
As part of the due diligence process, a prominent law firm has published a public notice on behalf of the buyer.
“Our Client seeks to acquire residential property situated at Plot No. 5, Block No. 159 (known as 5, Bhagwan Dass Road), measuring 3.2 acres (approximately 12,949.94 Sq. meters). We are verifying the title held by the current owner, Manujendra Shah. Any individuals claiming rights or titles related to the property are invited to respond in writing with their claims and supporting documents,” the law firm advised in the notice.
Attempts to reach Manujendra Shah for remarks were unsuccessful. “The buyer’s family already resides in Lutyens Delhi and is nearing completion on the purchase of two large bungalows in the same area,” a source mentioned. “Both properties are prestigious, yet only a select few billionaires can afford them.”
