LUDHIANA: MC commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal has instructed the building branch officials to expedite the collection of dues and halt illegal constructions throughout the city. These directives were issued during a meeting held at the MC Zone D office in Sarabha Nagar on Tuesday.
Officials from all four zones attended the meeting, where they were tasked with meeting recovery goals promptly. The commissioner warned that strict actions would be enforced against any official failing to meet these targets. He also requested certificates confirming the absence of illegal construction activities within their jurisdictions.
Participants in the meeting included the SE-cum-MTP, assistant town planners (ATP), head draftsman, building inspectors (BI), and other officials involved with the building branch processes.
Dachalwal emphasized the establishment of weekly recovery targets, urging officials to meet them consistently. He noted that regular review sessions were being convened to assess progress and expedite the collection of dues owed to the civic authority. The commissioner stressed that ceasing illegal constructions remained a top priority, and officials must exercise strict oversight in their respective areas.
He encouraged residents to commence any construction projects only after securing approval for their building plans from the MC. Those undertaking construction without the necessary permissions would face stringent penalties. Dachalwal reaffirmed the civic authority’s commitment to upholding building regulations and ensuring compliance throughout the city.
