JAIPUR: On Wednesday, the Jaipur Municipal Corporation Heritage (JMC-H) took action to demolish two unsafe buildings in the Walled City area, specifically at Maru Chowk and Nagauri Chowk along Johari Bazaar Road.
“Initially, we pinpointed 14 buildings in the Kishanpole zone. Following a comprehensive assessment by technical experts, we identified seven structures requiring immediate demolition. We have commenced the demolition drive,” stated Dilip Bhambhani, the deputy commissioner of the zone.
In addition to the demolitions, the JMC-H also sealed another dilapidated building.
“Temporary accommodations have been arranged for the residents of these three structures,” Bhambhani added.
Amid these activities, JMC-H Mayor Kusum Yadav planted 201 Champa saplings in the green belt area of Kishanpole market on Wednesday. Along with her, Commissioner Nidhi Patel, garden committee chair Poonam Sharma, and deputy commissioner Monica Soni participated in the plantation initiative.
In another initiative, the JMC-H held a ‘Swachhata Ki Paathshala’ event at Vijay Children Academy in Ward 25 of the Hawa Mahal zone. The aim was to raise awareness about cleanliness among students and emphasize its importance.
“Students were educated on waste segregation (distinguishing between wet and dry waste), minimizing polythene usage, and environmental protection,” a press release from JMC-H disclosed.
