HYDRAA Removes Encroachments in Hastinapuram & Chandanagar

HYDERABAD: On Tuesday, the Hyderabad Disaster Management and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) addressed public grievances by clearing encroachments on government and community land across various city locations via the Prajavani platform.

In Hastinapuram North Extension Colony, Karmanghat village of Saroornagar mandal, members of the community reported that a 1.27-acre park, designated in the official layout, was being illegally sold as individual plots. “We acted on the complaints, inspected the area, and confirmed the encroachment of park land. The encroachments were removed, and fencing was installed to secure the property. Additionally, boards were placed to indicate that the land belongs to the agency,” stated AV Ranganath, commissioner of HYDRAA.

In a separate operation, encroachments were cleared from a 700-square-yard area intended for public amenities in Gangaram Colony, falling under Chandanagar circle within the Serilingampally zone. This layout, established by the social welfare department in 1974, included spaces for community use that had been unlawfully occupied and converted into residential plots.

Commissioner Ranganath elaborated: “Our actions were prompted by local residents’ complaints submitted through Prajavani. After thorough verification, we successfully removed the encroachments and installed protective fencing to prevent further issues.”

The department encourages citizens to report any similar instances via the Prajavani platform for swift action.
