HYDERABAD: HYDRAA has reclaimed approximately 2,000 square yards of land in Jubilee Hills, valued at around 100 crore. This land, located near the check post and adjacent to the main road, had been under encroachment for over 20 years.

Officials report that the plot originally belongs to the Jubilee Hills Cooperative Housing Society, designated for community use in the original layout. However, an individual named Pilla Satyanarayana encroached the area by creating a fake house number and operating a nursery on the site. Despite multiple attempts by the GHMC to reclaim the land, unauthorized structures continued to be erected.

Following a complaint filed by society members through HYDRAA’s grievance forum, an inquiry validated the site as public utility land. Notices were served to the encroacher, who subsequently took the matter to the high court. The court dismissed his plea, enabling HYDRAA to proceed with the eviction.

On Monday morning, with court approval, HYDRAA officials demolished the unauthorized structures after allowing time for the removal of nursery plants. The site now displays boards indicating it has been reclaimed. Plans are underway to convert the land into a deputy commissioner of police (DCP) office once all required clearances are obtained and the matter is fully resolved.

The Jubilee Hills Cooperative Housing Society expressed satisfaction with the outcome, stating their long legal struggle has finally yielded results.
