Haryana Revenue Seeks PAN Details for High-Value Property Deals

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Revenue and Disaster Management Department has instructed all deputy commissioners to submit any outstanding PAN details for high-value property deed registrations statewide without delay.

A letter from Sumita Misra, the Financial Commissioner of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, indicates that the Income Tax Department of the Government of India has requested PAN information for all buyers and sellers involved in deed registrations exceeding ₹30 lakh from the financial years 2019-20 to 2024-25.

The department has already made consolidated data accessible through the Web-HALRIS portal, which facilitates deed registration and land records management.

Tehsildars are advised to access their logins and pinpoint cases where PAN details are missing, even when the transaction value exceeds the stipulated amount.

All deputy commissioners are required to ensure that tehsildars urgently verify existing data and provide any outstanding PAN details to the Income Tax Department as a priority.

The communication further noted that the Income Tax Department has identified a backlog of data in particular tehsils, including Ballabhgarh, Tigaon, Dayalpur, Palwal, Kharkhoda, Wazirabad, Manesar, and Farrukhnagar, especially for FY 2019-20.

Deputy Commissioners are tasked with closely overseeing compliance to ensure timely submission of the necessary information.
