CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini declared Gurugram as the fastest-growing city in the state, emphasizing that any negligence in civic amenities management will not be tolerated.

He instructed officials to quickly compile and present a comprehensive report on the current status of water supply, sewerage systems, and sewage treatment plants (STPs) in the city. Saini asserted that providing high-quality essential services to every Gurugram resident is a top government priority.

The CM held a meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee in Gurugram on Monday, attended by local MLAs Bimla Chaudhary, Tejpal Tanwar, and Mukesh Sharma. A total of 17 complaints were discussed, with the CM addressing 15 immediately while deferring two for further analysis. He requested a status update on the pending cases for the next meeting.

During the gathering, Saini demanded strict measures against the tanker mafia in the city, stating that those engaging in illegal water supply in a modern city like Gurugram would face severe consequences. He instructed the department to act promptly against anyone found illegally supplying or purifying water, and urged the police commissioner to expediently resolve citizen complaints related to these issues, ensuring SHOs prioritize such cases to maintain safe drinking water supply.

Taking complaints against builders seriously, Saini directed officials to ensure builders comply with their agreements regarding essential services like water, electricity, and sanitation. Any builder failing to meet these commitments would face stringent action.

He also addressed a specific complaint about delays in online intkal (mutation of land records) registration, ordering an investigation into the naib tehsildar’s actions after a complainant reported prolonged registration delays. Saini emphasized the importance of addressing public grievances promptly, warning that any official negligence would be treated seriously.
