Haryana CM Offers 100 Sq Yards Plot to 1 Lakh Poor Families

KURUKSHETRA: On Wednesday, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced that one lakh families classified as ‘Antyodaya’ without land will soon receive a plot of 100 square yards each.

“Following this achievement, we will begin selecting an additional 1 lakh beneficiaries,” he stated.

The Chief Minister made these remarks during an event in various villages within the Ladwa constituency, as per an official statement.

He reiterated the government’s commitment to providing plots to underprivileged families, ensuring “a roof over every head.”

Saini criticized the previous Congress administration for making empty promises regarding the distribution of 100-square yard plots to the impoverished, stating they failed to deliver possession or registry papers.

In his address, Saini mentioned that starting August 15, government hospitals in 10 upgraded districts will offer treatments for all kinds of ailments, modeled after private healthcare facilities. This initiative aims to provide high-quality, affordable healthcare services to the state’s residents.

Representing the Ladwa assembly constituency, Saini spoke at events held in Dagali, Deeg, Beed Kalwa, and Dhanani. During his visit, he addressed public grievances and instructed officials to take immediate action.

He allocated Rs 55.41 lakh for clean drinking water pipelines in Dagali, Rs 52.64 lakh for Beed Kalwa, and Rs 27.15 lakh for Dhanani.

In Deeg, he laid the foundation stone for a new primary health center, which will be built at an expense of over Rs 6.38 crore.

Additionally, he announced Rs 21 lakh for development projects in each of the four villages and assured that all requests from sarpanches would be forwarded to the appropriate departments for action.

Saini highlighted that farmers in Kurukshetra district are cultivating sunflowers extensively, leading to the government’s decision to establish a sunflower oil mill in Shahbad. Furthermore, land has been earmarked in Rewari for a mustard oil mill, which will help guarantee fair prices for farmers’ sunflower and mustard crops.

He further stated that Haryana is the first state in India to procure all crops at Minimum Support Price (MSP).

“Under the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana, we compensate farmers when market prices for vegetables and other crops fall,” he added.

The chief minister announced that families with an annual income below Rs 1.80 lakh will receive subsidized cooking gas cylinders at Rs 500 each. This scheme currently benefits around 18 lakh families in the state.

Alongside this, the Ayushman Bharat Yojana provides eligible citizens with free medical treatment up to Rs 5 lakh, with coverage extended to Rs 10 lakh for senior citizens aged over 70. The government has allocated Rs 6 crore for this initiative.

He also mentioned that kidney patients are now eligible for free dialysis services in government hospitals.
