GURUGRAM: The Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) has instructed the police to file an FIR against SU Estates for neglecting to renew its group housing license for a 20-acre project located in Sector 58/63.

The license allowed the developer to create a residential group housing colony in Ullahwas as part of the Gurgaon-Manesar Urban Complex.

The license, initially issued in 2009, expired in August 2017, yet the developer never submitted a renewal application or the necessary documents according to Rule 13 of the 1976 Urban Areas Rules.

A notice issued on October 17 was reportedly ignored.

Due to SU Estates’ failure to adhere to the license terms, the DTCP ordered the filing of a criminal complaint against the developer.

The department has invoked sections 10 and 12 of the Haryana Development Act and requested the Haryana State Enforcement Bureau to seek prosecution approval from the deputy commissioner.

This initiative is part of a larger statewide effort aimed at addressing such violations, project delays, and irregularities in colony development.

Officials indicated that strict measures will be enforced to ensure developers comply with statutory timelines, particularly when large group housing colonies impact thousands of homebuyers.

The department has also disseminated copies of this communication to senior planning officials in Chandigarh and Gurgaon for further action.
