GIS Survey Starts in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Areas

CHHATRAPATI SAMBHAJINAGAR: The Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (CSMRDA) has initiated a Geographic Information System (GIS) survey, kicking off with a pilot project in five of the 311 villages.

The pilot includes the villages of Mauje Sahajapur, Balapur, Shendra Jahangir, Kagjipura, and Farola, for which a private consulting agency has been appointed.

CSMRDA commissioner Jitendra Papalkar stated, “We are conducting a GIS survey of CSMRDA areas to support comprehensive development and delivery of essential infrastructure in these villages.”

During a recent review meeting, Papalkar urged various government departments to assist the consulting agency assigned to this task.

CSMRDA will compile detailed reports and maps showcasing the current conditions through the GIS system. Representatives from the consulting agency will gather necessary data from various government and semi-government institutions. Additionally, site inspections, including photographic documentation, will be conducted as required. A thorough analysis of the physical, social, and economic infrastructure will cover the 311 villages across five talukas within the CSMRDA jurisdiction.

Parts of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Phulambri, Gangapur, Paithan, and Khuldabad talukas are included under CSMRDA. Importantly, the CSMRDA area also encompasses AURIC, which is part of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC), where significant investment has been made, establishing the region as a major center for electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing.
