GHAZIABAD: The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has initiated the ‘Rera Samadhan Diwas’ to address complaints against it under UP Rera. This monthly event will take place on the third Thursday of each month.
“As a development authority, the GDA is responsible for creating townships, including Madhuban Bapudham. It is accountable to home buyers investing in its housing schemes, similar to private developers. Hence, home buyers can approach the regulatory authority for any issues with the GDA,” a GDA official explained to TOI.
The official continued, “Since UP Rera’s inception, many cases have been filed against GDA, leading to adverse orders, including fund refunds. To counter this, GDA has implemented Rera Samadhan, providing a platform for home buyers to resolve their complaints and possibly avoid going to UP Rera if their issues can be settled here.”
The first Rera Samadhan Diwas was held last Thursday at the GDA office, attracting 20 complainants. Only two issues were resolved during the meeting, while the remediation process has begun for the others. Additionally, two complainants submitted affidavits to withdraw their cases from UP Rera after receiving assurances from the GDA.
Last year, Rajendra Singh, a home buyer from GDA’s Indraprastha housing scheme, previously sought assistance from UP Rera, resulting in an RC order.
“I filed a complaint for the release of the RC amount order from GDA, which they agreed to. I plan to withdraw my case from UP Rera. If a home buyer’s issues can be resolved at the GDA level, they won’t find it necessary to pursue cases with the regulatory authority,” Rajendra Singh said.
