NOIDA: Authorities filed a First Information Report (FIR) against two developers for alleged intimidation and violence after a farmer accused individuals associated with them of forcibly taking over his agricultural land and attacking family members during a confrontation late at night in the Rabupura area along the Yamuna Expressway.
Pramod, a resident of Raunija village, stated that the 0.9-hectare land parcel, recorded under kasra number 63 in Shahpur, has been farmed by his family “for generations.” This land was designated for an Ace Estate project near the upcoming Noida International Airport; however, its acquisition by the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) is under review by the Allahabad High Court.
Despite the ongoing legal proceedings scheduled for a hearing on Tuesday, the complainant alleged that a group of men arrived at the farm around 1 AM on October 31, began damaging standing crops, and claimed they were starting construction for the Ace Estate commercial project. “When we attempted to stop them, they assaulted us, including the women in our family, and forcibly occupied approximately 10 biswa of our land,” the FIR noted.
The family reported the incident at the Rabupura police station, asserting that the group threatened them with “severe repercussions” if they pursued the matter. The FIR names Ajay Chaudhary, CMD of Ace Group, and Mukesh Khurana of Logix Buildestate Pvt Ltd, which is developing the project in collaboration with Ace, along with their unidentified associates. The family also requested police protection and asked that the status quo be maintained until the high court issued a decision.
“The situation is sensitive as the land is under legal dispute. Actions will be taken following the collection of evidence,” said a police officer. The police have started reviewing call records, inspecting the site, and analyzing video footage from both parties. The case is registered under various sections, including BNS 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 352 (intentional insult to provoke a breach of peace), 351(3) (criminal intimidation), and 324(4) (mischief).
Developers call FIR ‘false and one-sided’
Ace and Logix have denied the allegations. Logix Buildestate Pvt Ltd issued a statement calling the FIR “unjust and one-sided,” asserting that the land was lawfully acquired by YEIDA, with a lease deed executed in 2013 after all payments were settled. They allege that since June 2025, “local individuals and their families have repeatedly engaged in trespassing, vandalism, and intimidation,” and claim to have filed multiple police complaints on June 17, August 9, and October 30. “Intruders damaged internal roads, removed lighting poles, and disrupted construction. We have presented letters and documentation to the police and YEIDA supporting our claims,” the developer’s statement indicated.
In a separate statement, Ace Group reiterated that the dispute involves land allocated to Logix Builders by YEIDA, and that Ajay Chaudhary has been “unfairly implicated.” They emphasized that the allotment was made through a legitimate process and the layout/plan received approval from the Authority. The site has been inspected by both the Authority and police, who have taken necessary legal steps to address encroachment and formally transferred possession to Logix Builders. Ace Group clarified that Ajay Chaudhary and Ace have no direct or indirect involvement in this issue and requested not to drag any individual or organization into the matter without factual justification.
