Final Warning Issued to 60 Sushant Lok Homes in Gurugram

GURUGRAM: More than a month after receiving no responses from property owners regarding its notices, the Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP), led by District Town Planner Amit Madholia, has intensified enforcement efforts in Sushant Lok 2. Restoration orders have now been issued for over 60 residential properties due to violations of building codes and unauthorized commercial activities.

These restoration orders serve as the final warning—failure to comply could result in “sealing, demolition, or even cancellation of occupation certificates.”

Amit Madholia stated, “This action is being conducted in strict accordance with planning regulations. Property owners who have violated residential usage terms must revert their buildings to their original residential status.”

According to the DTCP enforcement wing, 34 homes have been identified with illegal constructions in stilt areas, as well as breaches in front and rear setbacks. Additionally, 26 homes were found to be operating commercial enterprises such as coaching centers, salons, spas, boutiques, guest houses, clinics, and offices in residential areas.

These actions follow show-cause notices sent to property owners last month. They were explicitly instructed to respond within 10 days and cease all unauthorized constructions and business operations.

However, after over a month, the department reportedly did not receive adequate responses, nor did the violations cease. This has led to the issuance of final restoration orders, paving the way for more stringent legal action.
