Delhi to Launch Portal for Investors to Find Land Parcels

NEW DELHI: In a bid to enhance the ease of doing business and simplify land allocation in the national capital, the Delhi government plans to establish a centralized portal to assist investors in identifying suitable land parcels, officials stated.

This decision emerged from a recent review meeting led by the Ministry of Home Affairs focused on reducing compliance barriers and streamlining regulations in Union Territories, they mentioned.

The portal will be created by the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC), which will receive map-based data support from Geospatial Delhi Limited (GSDL).

The IT Division of DSIIDC has been tasked with developing this platform.

“The Delhi Land Bank Portal will act as a central online hub for investors to find appropriate land parcels for industrial and infrastructure projects in Delhi,” an official commented.

The heads of DSIIDC’s Industrial Estate Management (IEM) and Relocation divisions have been instructed to provide details of suitable vacant land by September 10 for inclusion in the portal.

Once collected, the information will be verified by DSIIDC’s Engineering Division to confirm the exact coordinates of each parcel. The validated data will then be sent to GSDL for integration with Delhi’s geospatial map for online accessibility, the official clarified.

Officials believe the Delhi Land Bank Portal will enhance transparency and simplify the land identification process for prospective investors, while also minimizing bureaucratic delays and procedural hurdles.

The Delhi government has been implementing various measures to promote ease of doing business in the capital. Recently, a draft of the Delhi Industrial Policy for the next decade was made public to gather stakeholders’ feedback until July 30.

The proposed policy includes plans for a scheme to encourage the consolidation of land parcels, increasing floor space availability in industrial areas, in collaboration with the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and industry associations.
