KOCHI: The Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA) launched a land pooling office for the Infopark Phase III campus on Friday, marking the commencement of the land pooling process. Industry Minister P Rajeeve inaugurated the office within the Infopark campus, which will oversee the pooling of approximately 500 acres in Kunnathunad for the planned AI-integrated township.
“As GCDA advances with land acquisition, Infopark will focus on designing and developing the campus’s software,” revealed Infopark CEO Sushanth Kurunthil. “The main objective of this campus is to implement all essential services through artificial intelligence, relying on real-time data analysis,” he added.
“Operations will be managed by a centralized digital system. The advanced software technology needed for this AI township will predominantly be developed in Kerala, fostering an ecosystem that supports deep-tech startups,” he explained.
Regarding Phase IV, Rajeeve announced that the state government intends to transfer 33.5 acres of land from the Traco Cable Company, a public sector entity under the Department of Industry, to Infopark for its fourth developmental phase. The minister emphasized that this decision was made following Infopark’s request.
A high-level committee, which included the principal secretary and special duty officer of the industry department, the IT department’s special secretary, the Infopark CEO, and the Traco Cable Company MD, was earlier established to finalize the terms for the land transfer. It was agreed that the transaction would occur at a price mutually agreed upon by both parties, resulting in an agreement to transfer the land to Infopark for ₹200 crore.
