KOCHI: The executive committee of the Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA) has approved a resolution for the pooling of 500 acres to establish Phase III of the Infopark campus. Following local body elections, a notification for land pooling will be issued.

GCDA will provide details regarding the land in Kunnathunadu taluk, including survey numbers and the names of landowners. This notification serves as the official alert to landowners about the pooling process, allowing them to approach GCDA with any concerns.

Recently, GCDA opened an office dedicated to land pooling. Prior to the notification being issued, the state government will assign a land pooling officer to manage the process. The Phase III project aims to create an integrated AI township and is a collaboration between GCDA and Infopark. An MoU for land pooling was signed between the two parties, placing GCDA in charge of identifying suitable land.

Land pooling allows a group of landowners to collectively contribute their land for public developments. After the reconfiguration of plots and development of infrastructure, the remaining land will be returned to the original owners.
