INDORE: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced on Friday that the Madhya Pradesh government is dedicated to attracting investments in the real estate sector while ensuring necessary amenities like water, electricity, and transportation.
The CM mentioned that the Growth Conclave, titled ‘Next Horizon: Building Cities of Tomorrow’, aims to advance urban development in Madhya Pradesh. He highlighted successful infrastructure projects in Surat and Ahmedabad, proposing the establishment of at least ten similar markets in MP. “Being centrally located, MP possesses excellent potential for the real estate sector,” he remarked.
“Two decades ago, MP faced challenges with basic amenities such as water, electricity, and roads. Today, we even provide electricity to operate the Metro in Delhi. Utilizing our resources, MP is progressing and contributing to the nation,” he stated, adding that the vision of a ‘Metro City’ will soon be realized in MP.
“Currently, MP has constructed around 500,000 kilometers of roads, and our central location is advantageous,” he noted, also mentioning ongoing developments in road infrastructure, healthcare, and industrialization.
The CM emphasized that fast, accessible, and safe transportation is essential for modern cities. With future transportation needs in mind, the Bhopal and Indore Metro projects are being prioritized. Cities like Jabalpur and Gwalior are developing multimodal transport hubs, and 582 electric buses will be introduced under the Pradhan Mantri E-Bus Seva Yojana in Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Ujjain, and Sagar.
Yadav confirmed that substantial work is underway across various sectors, including metro and multimodal transportation, lake conservation, and smart command centers. He assured that this is just the start and that efforts will continue rapidly with community support. Additionally, he pledged to expedite the redevelopment of Hukumchand Mill land.
He noted that significant Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed during the conclave to boost urban development, including one between the MP government and the Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics (BISAG-N) to enhance urban management through technology.
Another agreement was established between the MP Urban Development Company and the Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO).
Furthermore, INR 3,562.27 crore was approved for 257 projects related to wastewater management and infrastructure development under the Swachh Bharat Mission.
The event also celebrated a significant achievement in housing development. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 45,503 beneficiaries received homes through PMAY 1.0, while 19,541 beneficiaries received approval letters under PMAY 2.0, totaling INR 2,799.26 crore disbursed to 65,044 beneficiaries.
Numerous investors attended and were provided with comprehensive information on the state’s investment policies, industrial infrastructure, single-window system, and its immense potential.
