GORAKHPUR: The Chief Minister Rural Housing Scheme is transforming the dream of homeownership into reality for countless underprivileged families in the Gorakhpur division. Launched under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s guidance, the scheme provides crucial support for those excluded from the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin due to technical barriers.
According to officials, over 19,000 beneficiaries across four districts have been included in the state scheme, with more than 17,000 already moving into their pucca homes. The government has allocated approximately Rs 219 crore for this initiative so far.
Additionally, the PMAY-G has also made significant strides, with nearly 1.99 lakh houses sanctioned and completed in the division, showcasing efficient implementation at the ground level.
The state government has prioritized assistance for families affected by natural disasters, as well as vulnerable communities like Vantangia and Mushar under the CM scheme. Beneficiaries receive Rs 1.2 lakh for home construction, Rs 12,000 for toilets under the Swachh Bharat Mission, free electricity connections through the Saubhagya Yojana, and LPG connections via the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.
Divisional Commissioner Anil Dhingra stated that efforts are ongoing to ensure that every eligible rural family gains access to a permanent residence.
