CHANDIGARH: The Chandigarh administration has revised its paying guest (PG) policy, now requiring completion certificates for registration and ending the option for conditional registration.

As per the amendment to Clause 5 of the PG policy, notified on Tuesday, PG accommodations will now only be allowed in residential properties that comply with building bylaws and have not been subject to unauthorized construction after receiving a completion certificate.

Previously, PG establishments could secure conditional registration even without completion or occupation certificates, with a grace period of six months to submit these documents. Under the new policy, conditional approvals are abolished, and occupation certificates, which were not mandatory before, are now required.
