CHANDIGARH: The Chandigarh municipal corporation has initiated the e-auction for over 100 commercial properties throughout the city. The first set of auctions is already underway, with additional properties expected to follow in the next 7-10 days.
The available properties include 39 booths in Sector 17, the Smart City office building, 40 booths in Mauli Jagran, and multiple booths at the Sectors 17–22 underpass, along with seven nurseries at various locations.
The Smart City office has a reserve rent ranging from Rs 30-35 lakh per month. Nursery prices fluctuate between Rs 70,000 and Rs 90,000 based on size, while subway booths carry a base rent of Rs 26,000. Booths in Sector 17 are priced between Rs 19,000 and Rs 22,000, and those in Mauli Jagran start at Rs 5,000 per month.
Previously, many of these properties failed to attract bidders. Following multiple attempts, the base price for over a dozen underpass booths was reduced by 20% after receiving approval from the general house.
Of the 105 booths in Mauli Jagran, 65 are currently occupied, with the corporation now focusing on renting out the remaining 40. Paperwork for the e-auction of the seven nurseries is also nearing completion.
“We are finalizing the documentation for the 40 booths and seven nurseries. These will be e-auctioned in the next week to ten days. The booths will be rented out in their present condition, with occupants allowed to carry out any necessary repairs,” officials stated.
