Chandigarh: Drone Survey Complete, Field Verification Starts Sept 20


CHANDIGARH: The Chandigarh administration has finalized the drone survey under the NAKSHA pilot program, with field verification of property features set to begin on September 20. A total of twenty survey teams, each consisting of five members, have been formed to systematically execute the task.

A review meeting chaired by DC Nishant Kumar Yadav took place this Tuesday to assess the progress of NAKSHA. Officials from the Survey of India (SOI), National Informatics Centre (NIC), Municipal Corporation Chandigarh (MCC), Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation (MPSEDC) (via video conference), along with the State Project Management Unit (SPMU), NAKSHA, UT Chandigarh also participated.

The meeting focused on the pilot project, which encompasses five villages—Burail, Attawa, Kajheri, Palsora, and Sarangpur—and 15 sectors (Sectors 2 to 17). The deputy commissioner assessed the development of the Record of Rights (RoR) for properties in the Lal Dora areas of these villages, where all property records will be consolidated and Urban Property (UrPro) cards issued. He emphasized the need for thorough training of surveyors responsible for field data collection to ensure precision and efficiency.

Concluding the meeting, the deputy commissioner urged all parties involved to strictly adhere to the established timelines for each phase of the project to guarantee timely completion. He further instructed the SPMU to ensure strong coordination among all implementing agencies for a smooth and effective execution of the program.
