CHANDIGARH: On Monday, the MC general house approved two significant revenue-generating proposals: the terms for the Manimajra housing scheme and the establishment of 53 new advertisement sites/unipoles. The civic authority will forward the meeting minutes to the Chandigarh administration, and upon approval, will initiate the project.
The Manimajra initiative will span over 7.5 acres across five parcels in pocket number 6. Land allotment can be conducted jointly or individually to ensure project viability. Terms and conditions have taken into account all administrative, legal, financial, and engineering considerations for the housing project.
The MC has specified that no fragmentation or amalgamation of any site or structure is permitted; construction must adhere strictly to the zoning plan, and no additional activities will be allowed in the dwelling units or flats. tnn
Additionally, the general house discussed and approved the agenda for the 53 new advertisement sites/unipole locations recently designated by the Urban Planning department.
Currently, the MC has 22 similar sites and unipoles, and has created comprehensive terms and conditions for a total of 75 (53 newly approved plus 22 existing) advertisement sites/unipoles. These sites are categorized into three zones, with 25 advertisement sites/unipoles in each zone.
With the agenda approved, tenders will be issued accordingly. Financial projections suggest that the MC anticipates generating over ₹12 crore annually by auctioning these advertisement sites/unipoles, with a provision for a 10% annual increase.
