BHUBANESWAR: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) have successfully allocated over 100 additional units at the Shantipalli Awas Yojana to beneficiaries, enhancing quality living conditions.
This marks the third allotment phase of the Shantipalli Awas Yojana, also known as Keshari Residency at Satya Nagar. This initiative is part of three affordable housing projects under the PM Awas Yojana in Bhubaneswar. Construction is ongoing for the other two projects, Ekamra Residency and Barunei Enclave, located at Buddha Vihar and Subuddhipur, respectively.
With this latest round, the total beneficiaries who have received homes in the project has risen to 560. In the first phase, which took place in November 2023, keys were handed to 326 beneficiaries, followed by an additional 121 families who moved in during the second phase.
During a recent assembly session, the Housing and Urban Development Minister, Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, disclosed that this housing initiative, executed through a public-private partnership, will ultimately include 1,300 dwelling units upon its completion. “In the first phase, the private developer is establishing 840 units for the economically weaker section, of which 560 have already been built in a G+4 structure and allocated to beneficiaries,” the minister stated.
