BHOPAL: The inauguration of the Bhopal Metro is now in its final stages, with crucial inspections set to begin on September 24, as confirmed by officials from MPMRCL. Passenger services for the Bhopal Metro are tentatively expected to start in October.

The Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the Subhash Nagar Depot and rolling stock, a vital step toward receiving operational authorization. Following this, inspections of metro stations will take place, as per official announcements.

On Thursday, MPMRCL Managing Director S. Krishna Chaitanya carried out an extensive inspection of the Subhash Nagar Depot in preparation for the upcoming review. His assessment covered critical facilities including the control room, inspection and repair bays, traction substation, training centers, and maintenance units for rolling stock. He urged officials and contractors to expedite the completion of all outstanding tasks while adhering to safety and technical standards.

After evaluating the depot and rolling stock, the CMRS will also inspect metro stations along the priority corridor, including AIIMS, DRM Office, and Subhash Nagar stations. These evaluations will assess passenger amenities, platform security systems, signaling protocols, and emergency procedures.

The Bhopal Metro will be authorized to commence operations once it receives final approval from the CMRS.
