Bengaluru Court Freezes Site Over Alleged Forged Land Docs

BENGALURU: The Land Grabbing Prohibition Special Court has issued a temporary injunction halting construction work by a well-known builder in Chikkabanahalli village, Bidarahalli Hobli, Bengaluru East Taluk. The court also instructed the Deputy Commissioner of Bengaluru Urban and the Bengaluru East Taluk Tahsildar to provide a status report.

The injunction was granted based on a complaint by social activist Paramesh, who alleged the builder encroached on government land and pathways using a fraudulent document purportedly issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Bengaluru Urban.

The court’s order stated: “We issue a temporary injunction against Respondent No. 1 and any related parties, preventing them from continuing construction on the specified property until the next hearing. The complainant must comply with Order 39 Rule 2(a) of the CPC. Additionally, we direct the Deputy Commissioner and the Tahsildar to submit a detailed status report regarding the allegations, including any encroachments and relevant survey sketches, by the next hearing date.” The case hearing has been adjourned to March 3, 2026.

In another development, Paramesh V filed a complaint with Kadugodi Police on November 10, seeking the registration of an FIR against both the Bengaluru Urban Deputy Commissioner and the Bengaluru East Taluk Tahsildar for negligence, dereliction of duty, and other charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023.

Paramesh stated: “The builder utilized a forged document to gain necessary approvals. When I inquired, the Deputy Commissioner’s office confirmed that no such order had been issued. I have approached the Kadugodi Police to file an FIR, but as of now, they have yet to do so.”
