TIRUPATI: The Andhra Pradesh government, which has been promoting Visakhapatnam as the IT and AI capital of the state, is fast-tracking the establishment of an IT cluster park at Kadapa’s district headquarters.
Confirming this development to TOI, Kadapa TDP legislator and government whip Reddeppagari Madhavi Reddy noted that a land parcel has already been identified for the proposed IT cluster park at the Kadapa constituency headquarters.
“Since coming to power in 2024, the TDP-led NDA government has implemented a decentralized development model. This is evident as different regions in the state are being highlighted as specific hubs: Visakhapatnam as the IT & AI destination for investors, while Tirupati, Sri City, and Kopparthi are being promoted as electronics manufacturing centers. Additionally, other districts in Rayalaseema, such as Kurnool and Anantapur, are also attracting investments in sectors such as defense, solar energy, and drone technology,” the Kadapa MLA stated.
She explained that the state government plans to establish 175 industrial parks across all assembly constituencies and set up “plug and play” IT parks in select areas. Madhavi Reddy added that the AP government has given its formal approval for the establishment of an IT park in Kadapa to entice IT companies, startups, and entrepreneurs, promoting a dynamic IT ecosystem in the region.
“The Andhra Pradesh Information Technology, Electronics and Communications (ITE&C) department has directed the Kadapa district collector to allocate the identified 10 acres of land for the IT park and to secure funding for its development,” the Kadapa MLA said.
