PATNA: In a survey conducted by the Patna Municipal Corporation, out of 83,000 street lights in the city, 3,200 were found non-functional.
The survey was conducted in all the 75 wards of the city ahead of the monsoon season under the directive of the municipal commissioner. A total of 19 zonal officers were instructed to inspect the street lights in their respective areas.
The municipal commissioner directed the officials to repair the non-functional street lights within 10 days. Additionally, regular inspection as well as maintenance of street lights would be done regularly.
Electrical executive engineer, SBPDCL, Bablu Gupta, said that teams have been tagged with zonal officers for maintenance of the street lights. “Our goal is to ensure adequate light on all the city streets and roads as soon as possible.”
