BENGALURU: The Greater Bengaluru Authority’s e-Khata initiative has demonstrated exceptional administrative performance, with over 99% of applications processed across the city, as per corporation-wise data from January 7.
In total, five city corporations received 9.1 lakh applications, with approximately 9 lakh already approved.
The West city corporation recorded the highest volume of applications at 2.7 lakh, followed closely by the South with 2 lakh. Officials noted that the higher backlog in these areas was directly related to the volume of applications received. Delays predominantly stemmed from mutation processing, which constituted more than 90% of pending cases citywide. The West region experienced the most substantial number of mutation cases pending beyond seven days.
Nonetheless, disposal efficiency remained impressively high, as all corporations reported clearance rates exceeding 99%. The average pending period across Bengaluru was just 2 days, reflecting a largely efficient and evolving digital property documentation system, according to a senior official.
