KHB Seeks Applications for New Residential Layout in Chamarajanagar

MYSURU: The Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) is set to develop a new residential layout in Chamarajanagar, adding to the three existing layouts in the city.

The KHB is currently conducting a demand survey to identify land for this new initiative, aimed at catering to the increasing housing needs in the area. The existing layouts, including sites and houses, have been successfully allocated at the Old Housing Board Colony near Ramasamudra and another location close to Dr. BR Ambedkar Stadium.

Now, it is moving ahead to establish its fourth layout through a public-private partnership near Uttuvalli in Kasaba Hobli, having signed a memorandum of understanding with a local infrastructure firm. The KHB has also issued a notification for site distribution in this new layout and is inviting demand survey applications online.

The available sites vary in size: 6×9 metres for economically weaker sections, 9×12 metres for lower-income groups, 9×15 metres for middle-income groups, and 12×18 metres for higher-income groups. Applications must be submitted with e-payment only.

Fees are set as follows: EWS applicants will pay a registration fee of ₹300 and a deposit of ₹5,000; LIG applicants will pay ₹500 and ₹10,000; MIG applicants will pay ₹1,000 and ₹40,000; and HIG applicants will pay ₹1,500 and ₹50,000.

These rates are provisional, with a square foot price fixed at ₹1,500. Application submissions are currently open, with a deadline of December 31.

According to MS Mahesh, assistant executive engineer of KHB, the new layout will be built over 24 acres near Kasaba and Uttuvalli, and the demand survey application process is now underway.
