LUDHIANA: Following the directives of Punjab Housing and Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian and Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA) Chief Administrator Sandeep Kumar, the regulatory division sealed five unauthorized buildings in Threke village on Thursday.
The developers continued illegal construction work despite receiving notices, prompting a special team to execute the sealing operation without opposition.
The GLADA has also recommended filing FIRs against the developers involved.
A spokesperson mentioned that there is a strict zero-tolerance policy towards unauthorized and unplanned development, particularly concerning illegal colonies. A special initiative has been launched to punish those exploiting unsuspecting residents by offering cheaper plots in these unauthorized areas, which do not comply with government regulations.
GLADA Chief Administrator Sandeep Kumar urged the public not to purchase properties in unauthorized colonies, as the development authority will not provide essential services such as water supply, sewerage, or electricity connections to these regions. Prospective buyers can refer to the official GLADA website for a list of approved and regularized colonies along with their sanctioned maps before making any purchases.
