LUCKNOW: The Hussainganj police have filed a fraud case against four individuals, including Fahad Yazdani, the owner of Yazdan Infrastructure, which previously attracted significant media attention.
It is alleged that Yazdani and his associates defrauded two individuals out of several lakhs of rupees by falsely promising them apartments. The complaint was registered following directives from Additional DCP (Central) Jitendra Dubey.
Victim Ramkaran Singh Bachchan, a resident of Tindwari Benda in Banda, reported that in 2017, he and his friend Rajbhavan Upadhyay sought to buy an apartment. They connected with Yazdani, who informed them about the Alaya Apartments project on Purana Qila Road, supposedly developed by Sharafat Ali, Abdul Qadir Khan, and Farhat Hasan.
The accused assured them that the apartment’s design had received approval from the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) and that all necessary NOCs were secured. Relying on these claims and the provided documents, Ramkaran bought flat number 602, while Rajbhavan acquired flat number 302.
The deception came to light when the LDA ordered the demolition of the complex a few years later.
Ramkaran accused the defendants of swindling crores from numerous people under the pretense of selling flats. When he requested a refund, Yazdani and his associates provided only empty promises.
Multiple cases have been registered against the accused at various police stations throughout the city. Shivmangal Singh, in-charge of the Hussainganj Police Station, stated that upon investigation, the allegations were substantiated, leading to the filing of a fraud case against the builder and his associates.
