AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu urged officials on Friday to accelerate the development of Amaravati, the greenfield capital city, and ensure its timely completion.

During a project review meeting at his camp office, Naidu assessed the ongoing progress, which included beautification projects and the distribution of returnable plots to farmers.

“CM Chandrababu Naidu made it clear that construction work must not be delayed. The timelines for completion should be strictly adhered to,” a release stated.

While discussing various construction projects, Naidu inquired about the workforce availability and the progress made by companies in sourcing materials and machinery.

He emphasized the importance of maintaining quality alongside speed and announced plans to review the progress of Amaravati’s development every 15 days.

Addressing the slowdown caused by rainfall, the Chief Minister encouraged officials to compensate for lost time in the coming weeks and directed construction firms to deploy sufficient manpower and equipment.

Naidu also instructed officials to ensure a continuous supply of gravel by collaborating with the Mines Department.

Highlighting the significance of land-pooling farmers, he stated that those who have contributed land for the capital should face no obstacles in registering their returnable plots, promising a meeting with the farmers soon.

Officials informed the Chief Minister that there are pending registrations for returnable plots for 2,471 farmers.

Naidu further stressed the need for the same level of attention towards greenery, beautification, and cleanliness in Amaravati as is given to construction efforts.

“It is vital to have high-rise buildings in Amaravati to project it as a world-class city,” he added.
