LUCKNOW: Individuals and families looking to purchase residential units in apartment blocks and developments established by housing authorities can now do so without the hassle of making multiple trips to local government offices. The housing department has directed 29 housing development authorities, along with the UP Housing Board, to compile a centralized list of available properties.
The list will be accessible on the portals managed by individual authorities (including Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi) and the housing department’s portal. To encourage potential buyers, relevant government agencies are required to upload recent photographs of the available units along with their geo-coordinates (Google Map).
The UP Housing Board in Lucknow has made over 4,250 residential units available under various schemes, complete with addresses, areas, and prices listed on the centralized portal. Prospective buyers will have the option to register with the authorities and enter a lottery draw for these properties.
A resident from Shaktinagar in Indiranagar, Awadhesh Verma, stated, “I have been searching for a suitable property for over a year and wish to purchase a three-bedroom flat in a developing area. Choosing a government-backed housing scheme is a wise decision. I’ve started exploring ready-to-move flats in Avadh Vihar, Himalayan Enclave, and Kailash Enclave.”
Out of 30 government housing agencies, 21 have published lists of available properties. An official indicated that properties can be explored in Agra, Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Mathura, Moradabad, Gorakhpur, and Jhansi.
