MOHALI: In a move that could impact the real estate sector, the Mohali district administration has announced a collector rate increase for residential properties ranging from 20% to 32% based on locality for the financial year 2025-26.

In municipal jurisdiction areas, residential rates have escalated by 5% to 33%. Last year, adjustments were made in September, with increases spanning from 26% to 50%. This year’s rate per square yard has risen from Rs 30,000 to Rs 36,000 and from Rs 45,000 to Rs 56,000, depending on sector demand.
District Commissioner Komal Mittal stated that all updated collector rates will be enforced district-wide from October 23. She emphasized that these new rates were developed following thorough consultations with stakeholders to ensure property transactions accurately reflect current market values and to streamline registration processes.
