GURUGRAM: The Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) has initiated a significant demolition drive, targeting 13 unauthorized colonies throughout the city.

In collaboration with local police, the DTCP has cleared over 40 acres of illegal developments and demolished more than 50 structures as part of this major enforcement operation.

The enforcement activities, carried out in three phases between July 18 and July 23, focused on unauthorized colonies within the jurisdictions of Sector 65, Rajendra Park, and Bhondsi police stations.

Officials noted that these colonies were established without the required layout approvals, zoning clearances, or licenses from the DTCP, violating the Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Areas Act, 1975.

A senior DTCP official stated, “These actions are part of our ongoing efforts to combat illegal plotting and safeguard planned urban development in the city.”

On Wednesday, the latest operation occurred, with DTCP teams demolishing four illegal colonies spanning eight acres in the revenue estate of Kadarpur village, under the jurisdiction of Sector 65 police station.

This demolition included 13 structures, such as damp proof courses (DPCs), partially constructed buildings, and two permanent structures, while also removing the entire internal road network built for illegal plotting and sales.

On the previous day, a similar operation was executed in the revenue estates of Dhankot and Kherki Majra Dhankot, under the Rajendra Park police station.

The team cleared four unauthorized colonies covering 7.7 acres, demolishing 27 structures, including DPCs, boundary walls, and newly built houses that had appeared in recent months.
