BHUBANESWAR: To keep homebuyers informed, the Odisha Real Estate Regulatory Authority (ORERA) has mandated that all registered developers upload and regularly update information regarding their housing and plotting projects on the new ORERA 2.0 website.
The newly launched website serves as a comprehensive platform for homebuyers, allowing them to easily access the latest information about the projects in which they have invested their money.
In a letter sent to developers, ORERA requested that they update essential details of their projects, such as construction milestones, booking statuses of available units, and specifics about site engineers and architects involved.
ORERA has also provided a 26-page user manual to assist developers in updating their project details. “As detailed in the step-by-step guide and user manual, all promoters with registered projects must complete this activity,” the letter stated.
This update facility is exclusively available to promoters holding a valid registration certificate. “The one-time data update aims to ensure current project statuses are accurately represented in the ORERA 2.0 system,” the letter emphasized.
Developers have until June 15 to fulfill this requirement. ORERA warned that failure to complete the updates on time might negatively affect the authority’s regulatory and service delivery functions, potentially harming the interests of both homebuyers and developers.
Furthermore, the update will assist promoters in submitting their quarterly progress reports on time via the ORERA website. This quarterly reporting is crucial, as it allows buyers to be informed about the exact status of their projects.
“Trust in ORERA has increased significantly lately. The rollout of this modern website is a positive development. However, certain issues, such as the execution of its own orders, need attention,” commented Artatrana Jena, a prospective homebuyer.
