GURUGRAM: For the third week in a row, the district town planner (enforcement) team conducted an “office on the spot” drive in Sushant Lok phases 2 and 3. Approximately 266 notices were affixed to homes that violated building guidelines, zoning laws, and occupancy certificate regulations.
Of these, 183 violations were found in phase 3 and 83 in phase 2, bringing the total to over 650 notices issued in the last three weeks.
Led by DTP (enforcement) Amit Madholia, the team performed a door-to-door survey in Sectors 55, 56, and 57 to pinpoint properties being used for commercial purposes.
The investigation uncovered various businesses operating without necessary permits, including salons, paying guest accommodations, clinics, tutoring centers, real estate offices, boutiques, car service centers, and printing shops. Additionally, officials identified structural violations such as unauthorized constructions in zoning areas, rooms situated in stealth parking zones, covered cut-outs, and extra structures on rooftops.
Madholia noted that many homeowners who received initial notices either did not respond or submitted inadequate replies. “We are now preparing to issue restoration orders against such properties,” he stated. “This will lead to sealing actions, cancellation of occupancy certificates, and hindrances to registry transactions at the tehsil level.”
The department has completed the notice distribution process across Sushant Lok phases 2 and 3. Officials also mentioned that enforcement will broaden to include violations of fire safety regulations, particularly in properties hosting paying guests or commercial kitchens.
Meanwhile, each property owner has been given a seven-day period to respond. Those who fail to respond can anticipate immediate punitive action, signaling a firm stance by the authorities to protect the integrity of residential zoning.
